- Start every rehearsal with a smile.
- Know that you are an indeispensable member of this organization, that your efforts here are worthwhile and significant, and that your presence, actions, and attitude each day do matter.
- to productive rehearsals
- Stay quiet and focused.
- Strive for 100% effort. Don't settle for less than your best.
- At the end of each rehearsal, ask yourself whether the rehearsal was productive. If your answer is no, what could you personally have done to achieve more?
- Find something you accomplished or improved of which you can be proud after each rehearsal.
- to better musicianship
- Practice at home daily.
- Learn and memorize your music early.
- Face technical challenges in your music with confidence. Strive to be able to play your music perfectly.
- Consider taking private lessons on your instrument.
- to setting goals for yourself and the group, stretching to achieve them
- to teamwork and camaraderie
- The "family" you create here might prove to be the source of your best high school memories.
