Snacks / Coffee Sales
Sell tasty snacks/ coffee to pay your band dues and set aside money for band trips, etc.! The fund you earn go directly toward your benefit and be carried over from year to year in your band career. We will be selling snacks that are reasonably priced at $6 each. Band members earn 50% of all sales (less a small pro‐rated deduction for shipping). New for this year, we will also be offering packs of premium coffee at $15 each. Band members earn $6 per package of these sales. Here is a PDF file of the snack/coffee selections so that you can easily e‐mail them to near and distant friends and relatives to make ordering easy. Using social networks like Facebook, Twitter, etc. you can quickly get the word out about this fundraiser to all your connections! Asking neighbors and or having your parents ask co‐workers at the office are other great ways to have your friends and colleagues support you as band member. All money from this fundraiser go directly to the kids – no funds are retained by the Parkway West Band Boosters Group!
Exciting Update from Band Director - Ben Pyatt
Good afternoon everyone!
This morning we put the entire 4th movement's drill on the field!! This includes around 30 pages of drill - twice as much as I thought we'd actually get accomplished considering the heat! I am continually impressed with their work ethic and drive to be great this year! This means that for the first time in many years, we have the ENTIRE SHOW on the field prior to the first day of school! This is a tremendous accomplishment and I hope is an indication of the type of year we are going to have!
A few quick reminders (as announced at our Ice Cream Social) -
1. We are taking the band picture tomorrow for the football program at 3:30pm. We will dismiss the kids for the day after they have changed out of uniform and have cleaned up our rehearsal spaces. Students should bring the following: Garment Bag – they will take their uniforms home tomorrow Long Black Socks Black Band Shoes – or other black shoes if band shoes are being ordered
2. New Student Orientation Performance (Thursday, August 12)– The band has been asked to perform the Fight Song for this event! Students should arrive at 1:00pm to get instruments. The performance time is 1:30pm and students can wear any show shirt or a Parkway West shirt. Following the performance, they should put instruments back in the band room.
3. Practice Field is available August 11-16 for students who need to get caught up on learning drill. It is recommended that they coordinate some help with a section leader or another student with experience to make the process go faster. These extra efforts are optional but it may help students retain all that they have learned during band camp! It is essential that students let me know the dates and times they will be at the practice field. I will be in meetings or in the Music Office/Band Room on August 11-13 if students need assistance.
4. Booster Meeting Tuesday, August 24 at 7:00pm in the Band Room.

On Friday, July 23rd, 2010, Parkway West Band is going to have a pool party at the Cedarmill Bathe & Tennis Club. Expect to have a lot of fun with your friends at the party. Drinks provided!. Please bring a snack to share.
